When I enquired if he ever engaged in prayer or had any spiritual routines, he responded no. He felt no belief in anything. I began praying for him, quietly and sincerely. In recent years, many of us have gradually begun to perceive a different aspect of reality. Elements that were once concealed, both positive and negative, are now revealed for us all to witness.

Since the turn of the millennium, particularly over the past decade, a growing number of individuals have begun to sense a stronger connection to a higher power, along with an increasing desire to align themselves with God, Spirit, and the Divine. Recently, I shared a hearty laugh with a friend as we looked back on a peculiar experience we had ages ago with a psychic medium (which she has continued to tease me about ever since).

We unintentionally showed up an hour ahead of a mediumship demonstration by an incredibly talented medium (per my friend’s claims). With not much else on the agenda, we opted to get some snacks at the venue before the event kicked off.

Before long, we were engrossed in a lively discussion about spiritualism and mediumship. Not too far away sat a somewhat eerie dark-haired woman who unnerved me a bit. I had this feeling that she might be tuning in to our conversation.

The hour zipped by, and the event started. To my astonishment and perplexity, the dark-haired woman we had noticed earlier rose to her feet, welcomed everyone, and revealed her identity to the audience. The ‘listener’ was the medium!

But my friend was not swayed by my skepticism, wholly convinced that the woman must have heard my name from the spirits. To her, asking about “Lucinda” had to be proof of her remarkable psychic skills.

The demonstration felt drawn out for me, and I even started watching the clock. The quicker I could leave, the happier I’d be.

Then, just as the evening was nearing its conclusion, the medium abruptly paused, began tapping her chest (just like my deceased father used to) and declared, “I have a very anxious man here named Jimmy, who passed away from a heart attack.”

This certainly piqued my interest! Not only did the medium replicate my late father’s distinct mannerisms, but she also mentioned his name and described his character accurately. He was indeed quite anxious by nature, and she confirmed the cause of his death. Then she conveyed that he was seeking my forgiveness, which resonated with me deeply, beyond mere coincidence.

I exited the meeting as a newfound believer in the medium whose abilities I had initially unjustly doubted.
