I lost my stepson to suicide several years ago. When his wife and two young sons were traveling for a vacation, their vehicle unexpectedly sputtered. They had to pull over and tried to determine the issue, but there was actually nothing wrong.

Frustration set in as they wanted to reach their vacation spot, yet there was literally nothing they could do to resolve it. Not long after, the vehicle started again, as if all was well.

Just a few miles down the road, a fatal crash had occurred. Had their van not failed, they would have been caught in a multi-vehicle accident. He was there for them without them even asking.

A straightforward method to purify your energy body and living space is by performing a cleansing ritual with white sage incense. I make this a regular practice in my home, especially during the New Moon (although it’s not mandatory to do it specifically on that day).

Begin in the eastern corner of your home with a white sage smudge stick or loose white sage, moving clockwise throughout the space. Keep doors and windows closed during the process. There’s no need to produce excessive smoke; just ensure that every nook is addressed.

Once finished, place any leftover smudge in a fire-safe bowl on the floor and hover over it to allow some of the incense to cleanse your body as well. Give it around 15 minutes to work its magic, then open all windows and doors to expel any lingering negative energy and refresh the air.

Next, you can rejuvenate all rooms in your home with new energy using an incense of your choice. I prefer palo santo (holy wood) or nag champa, but you can pick any incense that uplifts your spirit and brings you joy.
