Once I understood that as a spiritual entity I was distinct from my thoughts and emotions, I began to perceive them with greater objectivity.

As a natural outcome, I found myself posing some intriguing questions. What beliefs did I hold about these thoughts? What feelings did these thoughts kindle? This type of self-inquiry initiates a dialogue with your heart, your spirit, your higher self.

Your mind is designed for safety. More often than not, this translates to keeping you within the boundaries of your comfort zones and self-imposed limitations. Conversely, your heart and spirit urge you to develop and expand. The higher self desires you to learn, play, explore, and experience as much as possible during your lifetime.

By taking a sincere and compassionate look at your thoughts, you can discern where you might be holding yourself back. It will illuminate how you may be generating unnecessary conflict and resistance in your life. Where are you resisting flow? What thoughts and emotions are diminishing your energy vibration?

Upon realizing how I had completely obstructed some of the most vital aspects of my life, I discovered the drive to alter my perspective. It required time, and I stumbled and even faltered in some areas. Yet I have evolved, and I can reflect back and pinpoint exactly when this transformation occurred within me and how it redirected and improved the quality of my life.
