The Significance of Adopting Stability: Grasping What Remains Constant
Nature consistently evokes profound reflections within me. There’s something about pausing to observe the breeze sifting through the leaves or the sun softly streaming through the clouds that beckons tranquility and contemplation.
Today, I found myself pondering the ever-shifting seasons. In the Northern Hemisphere, we are nearing the summer solstice, with days growing longer and warmer, bathed in golden light. The foliage is vibrant and verdant, the air buzzes with the sounds of insects, and gardens teem with vitality.
Transformation is ubiquitous. It’s apparent in the ripening fruits, the sweltering midday heat, and the subtle change in the season’s energy toward harvest.
It’s not limited to nature. Our lives are in a state of continuous flux as well. Relationships evolve, careers shift, health varies, and aspirations transform over time.
No matter our direction, we encounter phrases like “Change is unavoidable,” and “Embrace change.”
Indeed, change is essential. As spiritual beings, our purpose is to continually grow and transform. Change tests us, expands us, and imparts lessons.
However, let’s be real — at times, it can also be profoundly distressing. This is especially true in moments like these when the world appears uncertain, divided, and fragile.
In those times, I reach for something deeper.
Amid all the upheaval and disorder, I find solace in the belief that there exists one constant in our lives; one element that never changes: God, Source, Spirit, the Divine, the Universe, the Sacred and Eternal.
God remains unchanged. The weather varies. Fashion morphs. Even the nature of change transforms. God has not changed and cannot and will not ever change ~ Max Lucado
The world’s spiritual faiths converge on this vital truth: An eternal omnipresence exists beyond life’s superficial chaos. It serves as a steady point in a world that is in constant motion.
In Christianity, God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. In Islam, Allah is eternal, unchanging, and ever-compassionate. In Hinduism, Brahman constitutes the formless, timeless reality underlying all existence. Buddhism teaches the constancy of the Dharma: the universal truth and path that remains unwavering even as all things emerge and dissipate. Judaism describes Adonai as unshakable—a rock and sanctuary across generations.
Beyond these primary world religions, numerous spiritual traditions—including Taoism, Kabbalah, Sufism, Gnosticism, and various esoteric paths—speak of an unchanging Source from which all transformation and growth emanate. This field of Divine Intelligence unites everything, even when it feels like the world is unraveling.
For me, this presence brings a sacred reassurance.
I often observe this presence most distinctly in nature. Regardless of how chaotic the world becomes, the seasons progress through their tranquil cadence: Winter transitions into spring. Spring erupts into summer. Summer matures into autumn. And this cycle endures, as it always has. The moon continues to rise. The sun remains radiant. The tides persist in their ebb and flow.
Hold fast to the Cord of steadfastness, so that all futile imaginings may utterly vanish ~ Shoghi Effendi
Nature serves as a reminder of the deeper order underlying the apparent disorder. It’s as if the spirit is whispering, “Even amidst change, you are not lost. You are part of something grander.”
Sometimes, I sit by the window with a cup of tea, opening a book of sacred texts—the Bible, the Tao Te Ching, the Bhagavad Gita, the Quran, the Dhammapada. I am often struck by how frequently these scriptures convey the same fundamental message: love, peace, compassion, and truth are everlasting. When we align ourselves with these eternal attributes, we feel more grounded and directed. We become better equipped to navigate life’s transitions with grace.
Even after reading many of these texts numerous times, I continually discover something novel within them—some insight I wasn’t ready for previously or a line that strikes different notes now that my life has changed. Yet, the fundamental wisdom and essence remain unchanged.
Truth remains constant. Love never wanes. God, Source, Spirit, the Divine will never forsake us.
So, as the world spins around us, we can opt to remain anchored in what is eternal. We can stand firm on our inner foundation, be it in prayer, meditation, nature, sacred music, ritual, or simply in a moment of breath and presence. We can return to that space where we recall that we are never alone and always connected.
You might be facing a challenging moment right now. Perhaps the world feels overwhelming. Maybe your personal circumstances are shifting. Maybe you’re mourning, in inquiry, or simply trying to keep afloat.
Being divine, you will be at one with the Tao. Being at one with the Tao is eternal. Though the body dies, the Tao will never cease to exist ~ Lao Tzu
If this resonates with you, please recognize this: You are embraced. The circumstances around you may shift, but your divine essence, your inner illumination, and the love that birthed you will always endure.
You need not have every detail sorted. Just take the next breath. Take the next step. Trust that spirit walks beside you, even when the path appears unclear.
Life will continue to evolve. Yet the divine remains unchanged—it is forever loving, siempre present, and eternally guiding you back to love, peace, compassion, truth, and your higher self.

In a constantly shifting world, it is easy to become ensnared in chaos and overlook what truly counts. This is why it is crucial to embrace stability and comprehend what remains unchanged.
Stability grants a sense of safety and dependability in our lives. It allows us to feel anchored and secure, even when everything around us is in flux. By welcoming stability, we can foster a sense of calm and tranquility that aids us in navigating life’s ups and downs with grace and resilience.
One vital aspect of stability lies in recognizing what never transforms. This can encompass our core values, beliefs, and principles that guide us through our daily lives. By identifying and clinging to these constants, we can establish a solid foundation to build our existence upon.
For instance, our connections with loved ones can offer a sense of stability and continuity in our lives. By nurturing these relationships and dedicating time and effort to maintaining them, we can forge a sense of belonging and connection that endures over time.
Likewise, our personal values and beliefs can act as a compass navigating us through life’s challenges and uncertainties. By remaining true to our foundational values and principles, we can make decisions that resonate with our authentic selves, guiding us toward a fulfilling and meaningful existence.
Embracing stability also entails acknowledging that change is an inherent part of life. While it is essential to hold fast to what remains unchanged, it is equally important to be flexible and open to new experiences and opportunities. By striking a balance between stability and adaptability, we can journey through life’s twists and turns with confidence and elegance.
In conclusion, embracing stability and understanding what never changes is crucial for fostering a sense of safety and reliability in our lives. By pinpointing our core values, beliefs, and relationships that provide stability, we can create a robust foundation to construct our existence.
